Babel
Outstanding, one of the best books I've read this year. Probably should win the Hugo. Good characters, cool world, thoughtful about language and colonialism and empire. Pairs very well with A Memory Called Empire. I liked it enough that I'm going to read Kuang's other trilogy now.
