Nettle & Bone
Not the most ambitious book I’ve read this year, but enjoyable, with great characterization and some really wonderful and memorable moments (there’s a bit where the main character confronts her fairy godmother that was extremely effective). Great worldbuilding, great magic, and an overall joy. If I could ding it for anything, it’s that Kingfisher’s romances tend to be a bit samey, having read a bunch of her novels in the past six months.
